The most significant recent development in this sector was the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 and the establishment of the regulatory agency, WorkSafe New Zealand (WorkSafe). The aim was to facilitate a safer and healthier workplace by proactively managing risks. There are further plans to increase the role of WorkSafe to administer and enforce the regulation of hazardous substances.
The NEW ZEALAND WORK HEALTH AND SAFETY module will continue to be updated to reflect changes and improvements in best practice processes as well as any changes to legislation and regulations impacting the sector as they occur.
